Grandweld’s latest tug order powers into the production phase!

Construction of all four tractor tugs will be completed in 7 months.

The construction phase is now in full swing and the complex design phase is ending after intensive cooperation between Grandweld’s in-house engineering department and international designer Robert Allan Ltd.

Grandweld worked with the owner SCC to ensure the tugs are customized according to end-user requirements.

Mr. Al Woqayan, CEO of SCC said “We are very pleased with the excellent progress and quality of work done by Grandweld to date and we are looking forward to receiving these high-performance tractor tugs.”

Achieving a bollard pull in excess of 50T, the tugs will be powered by Caterpillar 3512C main engines driving Kongsberg US2055 P20 Z-drives and DMT escort towing winches.

Extensive customization was done by the design teams, fitting with Grandweld’s model of providing unique tugs for customers who want to add value to their operations.
